Purchasing Chicks

There is a 6 chick minimum for shipping orders. Chick orders can be an assorted variety. Shipping prices vary by location. We ship USPS Priority Express 1-2 day delivery so please select that option at checkout. We will NOT ship your chicks if you do not select Express shipping. All chicks are sold as straight run. We ship chicks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays of each week during our hatching season.  All chicks will be sold healthy with no signs of illness.  Please pick up your chicks promptly from the post office when they arrive. We guarantee live arrival of shipped chicks (not including any extras we send out). If any chicks arrive deceased, please email us a picture of the chick with your order number to blackwitchchickens@gmail.com immediately upon discovery.

We will issue you a credit or apply the credit, which holds the same value of the deceased chick, to a future purchase. We do not issue refunds or credits for shipping charges.  Typically orders for day old chicks can take 3-16 weeks, depending on the number of pending orders being processed.

  Purchasing Fertile Hatching Eggs

Once the eggs are carefully packaged and shipped to you, the care and handling of eggs is out of our control. As with all shipped of hatching eggs, hatch rates can not be guaranteed as there is no way to control the handling of eggs by the post office.

   There will be no refunds. We are also not responsible for hatching rates. We regularly check fertility here and know we are sending fertile eggs with every carefully packaged shipment. Please let eggs sit overnight once they arrive before placing them in the incubator. This will allow for the air sac to settle and also allow eggs to come to room temperature.

    We ship hatching eggs by USPS Priority Mail on Monday-Wednesday with holiday and weather delays taken into consideration. Our eggs are gathered daily and stored properly to ensure freshness and maximum viability. Eggs are shipping usually within 1-2 weeks when they are in stock but sometimes our hens like to go broody or organize a henhouse strike and shipping may be delayed. Pre-orders are shipped in the order that they are received. Ship time for preorders vary and may take months depending on time of year and demand for hatching eggs.  Due to high demand, there usually is a wait list when ordering hatching eggs.

  We try really hard to ship only the best and freshest eggs available. It is for that reason we only ship to the lower 48 States within the United States.

   We always try include an extra egg or two with each order whenever possible, just because we know one may not make it in transit and we really want to make nice and be friends with other chicken people who share in the love of raising this unique breed.  

 

Our eggs are not for human consumption.

How to Order

​

You can order directly on our website by selecting the number of chicks or hatching eggs you would like. Payments can be made by credit card, debit or PayPal right on this  site. Orders will be filled on a first come first served basis according to when payment is received. Once your order is placed your spot in line will be reserved.

Cancellations

​

If you chose to cancel your order before it is shipped, there will be a 10% restocking fee. We do not issue full refunds unless the cancellation is at the fault of Black Witch Farm. If you need to cancel your order, please email us the reason for your cancellation and your order number.  In the event that Black Witch Farm can't fill an order, we reserve the right to cancel an order, and a full refund will be issued.
