Marek's Vaccine is STRONGLY recommended for this breed. If you wish to have your chicks vaccinated for Marek's Disease please add one vaccine to cart at checkout. One vaccine will vaccinate the entire order of chicks.

There will be minimum of six chicks per order. You may select different breeds to meet the minimum order total of six chicks. These will be straight run chicks, meaning that they will NOT be sexed as either male or female.

The Silver Westfalische Totleger, aka Silver “Deathlayer" hen is said to “lay an egg each day” until the day she dies—but there is a slight misconception in that statement. This beautiful breed molts and takes breaks from their laying cycle to regrow their feathers just like all other chicken breeds, but statement that they 'lay an egg each day' is true because there seems to be no laying difference between the amount of eggs that a young hen will lay compared to much older hens, hence appropriately giving these birds the proper name, “Deathlayer”.

The Silver Deathlayer is a very rare and fragile breed of bird which can make finding them difficult. This beautiful bird has only recently come over to the United States. Even in their native country of Germany, they are rare. Hens lay a medium white egg.

Chicks will be shipped by USPS 1-2 day Express Mail on Tuesday or Wednesday of each week. The chicks will be 24 hours or less old when shipped. Each box will include the UniHeat pad to keep the chicks warm and Grogel for a food/hydrations source, as well as coconut netting for flooring and fruit in each box, free of charge.

We will communicate with our customers at least one week in advance to give them a heads up on arrival times, confirming that shipment works for their schedule. If you have a preferred week of arrival, please add us a note at checkout and we will do our best to make your preferred week of arrival happen, but please don't hate on us if we can't.

All live birds will be held for pickup at local post office. Please follow USPS tracking information once order has been shipped.
Typically orders for day old chicks can take 3-16 weeks, depending on the number of pending orders being processed.

We ship chicks USPS Priority Express 1-2 day delivery so please select this option at checkout. We will NOT ship your chicks if you do not select Express shipping. We ship chicks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays of each week during our hatching season.

All chicks will be sold healthy with no signs of illness. Please pick up your chicks promptly from the post office when they arrive. We guarantee live arrival of chicks (not including any extras we send out). If any chicks arrive deceased, please email us a picture of the chick with your order number to blackwitchchickens@gmail.com immediately upon discovery. We will refund or replace deceased chicks when are notified within two hours of pickup at Post Office. We will issue you a credit or apply the credit, which holds the same value of the deceased chick, to a future purchase.

We do not issue refunds or credits for shipping charges once the birds have been shipped.

If you chose to cancel your order before it is shipped, there will be a 10% restocking fee. We do not issue full refunds unless the cancellation reason is at the fault of Black Witch Farm. If you need to cancel your order, please email us the reason for your cancellation along with your order number. In the event that Black Witch Farm can't fulfill an order or reserves the right to cancel an order, a full refund will be issued.
